I like sitting in silence while I'm working, cleaning, reading (not really), or cooking about 1% of the time. During the other 99% of my life hanging around my apartment, I need vibey music. I've listened to every different type of ambience music on YouTube: from themes based on movies to video games to Pinterest aesthetics to any random concept you could think of. That being said, today is your lucky day because you're getting all the deets on my top 10 favorite ambience videos of all time.
This is the most comforting ambience video on this list. Comfy comfy comfy.
She's sophisticated. She's making focaccia bread. She's sipping on red wine. She's reading romance novels. That's who I embody while listening to this dreamy collection of songs and nostalgic paintings.
Two of the most relaxing things in the world are Studio Ghibli and rain (and piano?). It's cozy, its relaxing, it's everything you could ask for. I've probably fallen asleep to this many times in my life.
This video is an absolute essential for fall time. The imagery is ideal: nothing fancy, just feel-good stills from one of the most iconic pieces of fall media. The music isn't overly fall, making it a great transition into the season from summer.
Sometimes I just wanna feel like I'm walking through Fantasyland, and this video does the job. It's cute. It's creepy. It's comforting. It's everything early Disney is know for.
The setting of this video is simple yet familiar. The rain is generic but layered over relaxing Animal Crossing music. I've listened to a lot of Animal Crossing music for my background ambience needs, but it feels a lot more natural with the rain. This video makes me want to sip on some tea while crocheting.
I strongly considered adding "Victor's Piano Solo 1 Hour Extended Version" to this list, but that song by itself was far too niche. This video presents some of the best music featured in Tim Burton films, and serves as one of the moodier options on this list.
This video is very self-explanatory.
Pure bliss. It's giving "I want to go to there." Not to mention you're set for the whole workday with this playlist being 10 hours long (as long as you don't care that it's the same few minutes looped). Luckily, you won't be disrupted with ads if you go with this one, unlike my number one pick.
I've probably played this video hundreds of times since discovering it, and it's so good that I can get past the frequent ads. The video transitions between different relaxing SpongeBob tunes, each lasting a few minutes. The short song segments are accompanied by their own still of an aesthetically pleasing SpongeBob setting. I can't even pinpoint a moment in an episode for a lot of these, even though most of them are from very early episodes. I kinda like the ambiguity of it, making it my tried and true ambient YouTube video.
